To apply for admission to Loudoun Country Day School,
please click the link below to create an account on our online application portal Blackbaud.
*If applying multiple children, please create an account for each child.

This applicant account will allow you to schedule your tour, sign up for a "shadow day" visit,
and register for upcoming admissions events.

Admissions Timeline

  • Step 1- Create an Applicant Account

    • Create an applicant account on Blackbaud, our online admissions portal.  This ensures that you will receive notifications about upcoming admissions events and application updates. *If applying multiple children, please create an account for each child.
    • Submit your online admissions application.
  • Step 2- Visit LCDS

    TOUR
    Schedule a campus tour/interview in your Blackbaud applicant account.  
      • Preschool to Grade 2
        • Only parents are required to attend.
      • Grades 3-8:
        • Applicants are required to attend the tour with their parents and guardians.

    SHADOW DAY

    Schedule your "shadow day" visit in your Blackbaud applicant account.
      • Preschool to Grade 1: The shadow day visit will be a playgroup session.
      • Grades 2-8: The shadow day visit will be a full school day visit with their current peers.
  • Step 3- Application Checklist

    Each Division at LCDS (Early Years, Lower School, Middle School) has a different application "checklist" with different requirements. 
    These requirements are listed in your applicant portal.

    Please contact the Office of Admissions with any questions.
  • Step 4- Testing/Assessment

    Each Division at LCDS (Early Years, Lower School, Middle School) has different testing or observation procedures to properly assess an applicant's readiness to the grade they are applying.  

    These requirements can be found in your applicant portal.
  • Step 5- Decision

    A complete application has all required "checklist" components marked as complete.  All completed applications will receive an admissions decision.

    As members of the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington (AISGW), notification of the admissions decision will be released in your applicant portal on Friday, February 27, after 4:00 p.m.

Observe our youngest learners express themselves in song and movement, listen while World Language classes video chat with pen pals an ocean away or speak to a teacher about the experiences your child will have in the classroom — a visit to LCDS is a glimpse into why our students love learning.
