Paws4Vets & LCDS: A $9,000 Gift of Gratitude

Loudoun Country Day School Donates $9,000 to Paws4Vets in a Heartfelt Veterans Day Celebration Honoring Service, Community, and the Legacy of Dr. Hollister.
Loudoun Country Day School proudly announced that its students and families raised an incredible $9,000 for Paws4Vets, the nonprofit organization that trains and partners service dogs with veterans and active-duty service members. This remarkable gift was made possible through the students’ enthusiasm and the generous support of LCDS families, who come together each year to uphold one of the school’s most meaningful traditions.

Each fall, as Veterans Day approaches, Mrs. Victoria Frashure leads the schoolwide fundraising initiative with tireless dedication. Her work ensures that LCDS students not only understand the significance of the day but also experience the joy of giving back to the veteran community through Paws4Vets.

This year’s celebration brought something extra special: in gratitude for LCDS’s years of support, Paws4Vets trained and named a new service-dog-in-training in honor of our former Headmaster, Dr. Hollister. Dr. Hollister attended the ceremony as the school’s guest of honor, receiving a warm welcome from students, faculty, and friends who were delighted to see the meaningful tribute bestowed in his name.

The event also welcomed several distinguished members of the Paws4Vets community, including:
  • Randy Powers with his service dog LAYLA,
  • Marten Wallace with service dog LANE,
  • Rachael Wessel with service dog LANDERS.
Their presence offered students a firsthand glimpse into the life-changing impact that trained service dogs have on veterans.

The morning was filled with pride, gratitude, and celebration — a reminder of the values that anchor the LCDS community: respect, citizenship, and caring. It was, in every way, a day to honor our nation’s veterans, strengthen our partnership with Paws4Vets, and celebrate the power of kindness.
